Fall For Me (The Tate Chronicles, #1)Fall For Me by K.A. Last
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a book full of surprises!! Grace is a protection angel. She stands up for what she believes in and will protect the ones that she loves no matter what. Angels aren't supposed to fall in love though...and there are consequences! Grace must choose what side she will fight for, who she loves, and how to keep everyone safe. I enjoyed reading this book and I love the characters! My favorite would have to be Seth. Just love the whole bad boy/angel thing he has going on! Fall for me is a well written story and I'm looking forward to reading the next book!

Useful tips & websites!

I've only been blogging and reviewing for a year now, but I thought I should share with everyone what I've learned in that year, in case anyone out there needs help or is new to the blogging community and is unsure where to start. I didn't get much help when I first started doing this so I want to make sure I can help others as much as possible. Here is a list of tips and websites I use to run my blog. If you know of any tips or websites that I didn't list below, please leave a comment! I'm still relatively new to the blogging community and  most of this is common sense, but you can never have too much help! (:

Websites:
I found this website to be VERY helpful in getting more followers. It's free to create an account and you just mingle with other bloggers/authors and usually do a follow for a follow.

*Twitter & Facebook
Everyone knows about these two, but I know I was hesitant to create a Twitter account at first.  I wasn't used to "tweeting" and wasn't sure exactly what to say/ do. I'm sooo glad I finally gave in and created an account! It's a great way to spread the word around about your upcoming reviews, giveaways, interviews, etc.  You get more followers, come across other bloggers giveaways, and I've had a good bit of authors get in touch with me through Twitter rather than my blog.  They both help get your blog out there and gives you chance to come across other bloggers.

I LOVE Goodreads!! It free to create an account and I can't even begin to tell you how much it has helped me stay organized. Goodreads let's you create shelves for your books. You can have multiple shelves for books you want to read, what you have already read, and what you are currently reading.  You also get to rate & review the books. There's a code listed to the right side when you write a review so all you have to do is copy and paste that code onto your blog and boom! Your review is there (:

This is the website I use to host my giveaways. It's free and so simple. You create your giveaway, copy and paste the code on your blog and then people can enter your giveaway. It shows you how many people have entered, how long the giveaway lasts, and the different options you can do to enter it. Free & simple, doesn't get much better, right?

Shelfari is similar to Goodreads and to http://www.librarything.com
All three of these sites let you organize, rate, and review your books. They also have widgets that you can put on your blog to show others what books are on your shelves. For example: I have my Shelfari " to read" shelf in my TBR List tab. I also have my Goodreads "have read" shelf  to the left side of my blog.

This one is pretty self explanatory. This site creates a widget for a countdown until your blog's anniversary.

This is similar to Photobucket, but in my opinion, waayyy better! Just upload your photo and have some fun decorating and editing it.

*Blog Button code
I was stressing out soooo bad about having to make a blog button and I suck at codes.. completely. Just as I was about to give up and just pay to have one made I came across this blog article. It was so simple and actually worked for me! http://www.pinkonthecheek.com/2012/09/how-to-make-blog-button.html

Here is a huge list of bloggers! You can look up a genre and find all the blogs (that they have in their system) in one place! This is a great tool for bloggers looking for other bloggers in the same genre to follow and become friends with.

Tips:
~Network~
Sounds simple, but trust me, it's very time consuming. If you want more followers you are going to have to follow other blogs. If you want comments on your articles then you have to comment on other's articles. Don't be shy about commenting on other blogs, most of us love feedback and will return the favor! It's a great way to make new friends and get your blog's name out there.

~Enter & Host Giveaways~
You get a chance to mingle with other from the blogging community and a chance to win free books! Hosting a giveaway is a good way to get traffic through your blog and gain more followers.

~Tweet a lot & Follow back~

~Don't get overloaded~
It's VERY easy to get over worked! I've found it best to keep a schedule for your blog. Write down what events you have coming up, pencil in time to network, give yourself some reading time, and if you do book memes, leave an opening for those as well.  Don't assume you can fit everything in at once. Also, before agreeing to review a book, make sure you aren't already booked up for that week or month. I know it's hard to say No to an opportunity to review a book, but sometimes you have to.

~Join Blog Tours, Blog Hops, and become a Tour Blogger~

~Ask other bloggers for help~
Don't be afraid to ask for help! The blogging community is pretty friendly and most of us love helping each other out (: Whether it be with a question, swapping blog buttons, or interviewing each other.

~Make your deadlines~
Simple, but not always easy. Life sometimes get hectic and you may forget that you have a review due in a few days and you haven't even started reading the book yet!  :o Calm down. Just email the author and let them know that you will need a little extra time.

~Comments~
If someone is nice enough to comment on one of your posts, then you should return the favor. This is a great way to build a friendship with one another and gain more followers.

Lucius; The FallenLucius; The Fallen by Tara S. Wood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Omg, I loved this book!! I am picky about angel books, but this one was fantastic. It doesn't preach about religion or talk mostly about God. You've got a couple of sexy fallen angel warriors fighting demons and protecting the ones they love. It's well written and full of action! Each angel has their own "burden" and deals with things differently. Lucius is the leader and the others are loyal to him, even if it means getting kicked out of heaven. The heroine in this book is so loving and nurturing. They are perfect for each other! This book has action, betrayal, love, brotherhood, and a couple of hot steamy scenes. (; I'm already wishing the next book was out!! I think fans of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series would enjoy this series.

Book Trailer:here

Excerpt

The subtle whoosh of air from the doorway ahead made all five angels turn as one.
“Is there another one?” Lucius muttered. Turning to Domniel, he said, “Can you smell another one?”
Domniel lifted his head and walked toward the doorway. “Hard to tell. That smell's everywhere. I'll follow it and see what I find.”
“Good. Elijah, go with him,” Lucius said as he bent toward the pool of goo to begin purifying the remains. From the corner of his eye, Lucius watched Elijah nod and jog off to catch up with Domniel.
Task finished, he placed the vial of holy water in his pocket, and called after the blind angel. “Dom?”
“Yeah, man, out here.”
He motioned to Jude and Mordecai, and they ran across the street to another parking lot. He paused as he realized Domniel and Elijah weren’t alone.
A woman stared at them from across the lot. She looked calm. A dark halo of thick curls was pulled back tight, emphasizing an oval face and high cheekbones. The assassin-chic ensemble she sported could not detract from the feminine perfection she represented.
She laid smoldering eyes on them and growled, her voice smoky and rich, “Figures I would find pigeons here. It is the gutter, after all.”
Domniel’s head tilted and Lucius knew he was trying to locate her. He caught a whiff of sand and something exotic and ancient. He knew the blind angel had found her when he turned, putting his shades on her.
“Where the fuck did you come from?” Domniel snarled.
She laughed, the sultry sound designed to stir men’s loins. “A higher plane of existence, you useless bird.”
His dark sunglasses looked her up and down. “No shit, you a Jersey girl? That explains a lot.”
She glared at him before bringing her arm forward to reveal a flaming scimitar. “You pigeons always have to crap on somebody else's sidewalk, don’t you?”
Lucius stepped forward and laid a hand on Domniel's shoulder, urging him to stand down. Apprehension collided with recognition like a shot to his gut, and he gave the deposed goddess a slow, tight smile, hoping that this encounter would leave them with all their limbs.
“Hello, Khemrhy.”
“Do you have any idea what you just screwed up?” Khemrhy laid the scimitar across her back, the fire dying and sword disappearing before she leaned against an old Chevy pickup, one foot planted squarely on the front bumper.
Before anyone could slap a hand over his mouth, Domniel spouted, “Could it be your hot date for this century?”
Khemrhy smiled and stood back up. “No, you fool. You messed with my hunt. He was leading me back to something important. Not that you could ever understand that.”
Always cautious in his dealings with Khemrhy, Lucius put a hand over Domniel's mouth and said, “We think there's a second one. Did you see anything?”
“Of course. The other one went that way,” she said, jerking a thumb over her shoulder to indicate the alley behind her. Something about it seemed too simple, but a gust of wind brought the stench of brimstone strong enough that they could all smell it.
As Lucius, Jude, and Mordecai began to head past Khemrhy, they instinctively gave her a wide berth. From behind them, Domniel said, “I'll stay here and keep an eye on her. I still don't trust the bitch.”
“Little hard to keep an eye on someone when you're blind, pigeon,” she quipped. “Maybe you should get a dog.”
Lucius heard Domniel mouthing off in the distance and rolled his eyes, hoping she didn't remove any limbs. This time.
“A dog, huh? You’ll do. Let me see if I can find a leash and a muzzle,” Domniel snapped back. “Though you might be a little front end heavy to be running around on hands and knees, fetching shit for me.”
As the wind picked up, Lucius could see Domniel’s head swivel as he struggled to locate Khemrhy’s dissipating scent. Elijah signed to him in a panic, the fluttering of his fingers reaching through to the blind angel.
“Shit! Shit! Shit! I lost her! Where is she? I don't speak finger-fuck!”
Lucius whirled in a circle, hoping that even he could get a quick scent to target the goddess.
Ten feet in front of his sightless brother, Khemrhy growled, “I’ve got a front end for you.” And then the truck came crashing down on Domniel.
From his viewpoint behind Domniel, Lucius watched as Khemrhy planted her boot on the truck's bumper and pushed down hard to lever it upward. When she started pushing down with her foot, Elijah began frantically signing the word, “Chevy” to no avail. As the truck stood on end, she reached down, grabbed the bumper, and swung the entire vehicle over her head.
The pickup came down in a barrage of creaking steel, slamming Domniel hard into the pavement. He gave a loud, anguished grunt as Elijah ran to his side. Twisted metal groaned as Elijah tried to maneuver chunks of the vehicle up off him.
“Get…off me… fucking bitch!” he gurgled. Khemrhy laughed as she made her way to a Triumph motorbike parked beneath one of the street lights.
Lucius and Jude ran to assist. “What the fuck happened? Dom?”
“Chevy half-ton pickup,” Elijah signed to Lucius.
Lucius winced, reaching for parts of the vehicle. “Ouch.”
The sound of the Triumph's throttle rumbling got their attention and they turned. Khemrhy smiled back, flipping them her middle finger before roaring off down the street.
Domniel lay on his back, his chest caved in, laboring for enough breath to groan.
Lucius shook his head. “You know better than to piss her off. She could've killed you, dumbass.”
Domniel wheezed, turned his head and spat out two bloody teeth. “Get 'Magic Fingers' over here - good to go.”
Elijah tapped Lucius on the shoulder and gestured to Domniel.
“Yeah,” Lucius nodded. “Do your thing. And get him to walk. I'm not fucking carrying his wiseass back.”
They came forward and closed ranks, making a circle around him. Elijah knelt down next to the blind angel, stretched out his hands and cracked his knuckles.
“Just fucking get to it, mute. My balls are wedged up in my ribcage.” Domniel's eyes fluttered closed in between gasps.
Jude snorted. “Why can't you be the mute?”
Lucius held a hand up, silencing them.
Elijah rubbed his hands together and closed his eyes. The silent angel’s hands trembled for a moment and then glowed with a soft, white light. He placed both of them, palms down, on what was left of Domniel's chest and took a deep breath.
Domniel lit up, his chest echoing the glow from Elijah’s hands, and he let out a deep, relaxing sigh. “Fuck, yeah. I bet the chicks love that shit.”
“Shut up,” Lucius warned.
Domniel sighed again and gave into the healing.

When Ally becomes a newly single woman, she is determined to meet the man of her dreams. Never truly expecting it to actually occur, she is amaze to find herself drawn to a dark, mysterious stranger leaning against the bar. He was utterly irresistible. Despite her friends’ protests, she willingly follows him outside the bar and soon realizes that her world will never be the same again.

This is a well written story and I enjoyed it very much. It is free on the B&N website and it is a short story. It's only about 104 pages and it differs from the normal vampire stereotype love story. When humans are around vampires they get this uncomfortable, creepy, stay away vibe. Their instincts tell them to avoid them and they don't find them attractive, unless the human is their mate. In that case, they are drawn to them immediately and find them very attractive. I like the way the author changed it up a bit compared to other vampire books where they are irresistible and sexy and so on. Many people have low standards for free books, but I found it cute and enjoyable . It was an easy fast read that held my interest the whole time.  The story picks up in the second book called Stolen, which is also free. I rate this book with 3.5 out of 5 stars and will continue to read the books.

What’s the price of sin?

Human Paige Sloan once loved werewolf Drake Wyler more than life, but then that life was taken away from her. Attacked by vampires, Paige was bitten, and, on a cold, dark night, the life she’d known ended. She was reborn as a vampire—a werewolf’s deadliest enemy. Paige ran from the vampires who attacked her, and she ran away from her lover. She didn’t want Drake to know what she’d become, and she didn’t want to face the fury of his pack. But a girl can only run for so long until the past catches up with her. Some sins mark your soul.

When Paige learns that Drake is being targeted for death, she knows that she can’t hide in the shadows any longer. She has to return to him, and she will do anything—anything—in order to make sure that he keeps living. The vampires might have destroyed her chance to live and love Drake, but they won’t take him. Not over her undead body. She’ll slay them all…and maybe, just maybe…she’ll even have the chance to sin—one more time--with the werewolf who’d marked her as his mate. Some sins are worth dying for…

I am so glad that I found this on the B&N website!! It's a great short story and I found a new author to check out. It's about 172 pages long, but it is a nice read. This story is about love, but with a mixture of werewolves and vampires! It's not your typical human girl falls for tall, dark, and handsome. Right from the beginning you get into the characters. It will keep your interest and it's well written. I was hesitant to read a short story at first since I usually read a lot of series, but it was very good!! There was plenty of fight scenes and steamy hot romance! I recommend this book to anyone wanting to read a good short book about vamps and romance. * If you do read this book/or have read it and enjoyed it, make sure to check out the other books: Bound by Blood, and Bound in Darkness. They are all very good short reads! I rate this: 5 out of 5

Black Dagger Brotherhood Series

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There exists a secret band of brothers like no other-six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Yet none of them relishes killing more than Wrath, the leader of The Black Dagger Brotherhood.
The only purebred vampire left on earth, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But, when one of his most trusted fighters is killed-leaving his half-breed daughter unaware of his existence or her fate-Wrath must usher her into the world of the undead-a world of sensuality beyond her wildest dreams.

I LOVE this series! It was recommended to me by a co worker and I am so happy she told me about it. I was instantly hooked. The series is about 6 vampire warriors and you will fall in love with each and every single one of them. I sure did! This series has the perfect blend of: loyalty, brotherhood, love, action, sex, and hot vamps. I really enjoy reading these books because as soon as you think you know what's going to happen it goes in the complete opposite direction! J.R. Ward is not afraid to write about stuff that others may see as controversial , for example in some of the books there are characters that are bisexual.  She isn't the type of author to not put something in the books because it may stir up some people. She always stays true to the characters. Reading the brothers books you get to fall in love with them, find out what happened inn there past, read about them maturing, there loyalty to one another, defending and protecting their race, falling in love, and overcoming many real life obstacles. If you are thinking about starting this series, but aren't sure, let me say I HIGHLY recommend that you do! Rate this book 5 out of 5 stars!

In the Ichidian Universe, The League and their ruthless assassins rule all. Expertly trained and highly valued, the League Assassins are the backbone of the government. But not even the League is immune to corruption . . .

Command Assassin Nykyrian Quikiades once turned his back on the League—and has been hunted by them ever since. Though many have tried, none can kill him or stop him from completing his current mission: to protect Kiara Zamir, a woman whose father’s political alliance has made her a target.

As her world becomes even deadlier, Kiara must entrust her life to the same kind of beast who once killed her mother and left her for dead. Old enemies and new threaten them both and the only way they can survive is to overcome their suspicions and learn to trust in the very ones who threaten them the most: each other.
Fantastic adventure and a vivid futuristic setting make this sexy romance from Sherrilyn Kenyon a treasured classic.

I couldn't get into this story at all! It has a good concept, but I just couldn't focus on the story and felt left out since it didn't give you any background information about the new universe, the people, and what happened to cause things to be the way they are. I also didn't feel like the connection between the two main characters was real. I found this book uninteresting, lacking what I consider important information, and good chemistry. I've read other books by this author and enjoyed them, but am not a fan of this book. I tried to keep an open mind and tried forcing myself to read a few more chapters, but ended up putting it down and moving onto another book. I think it could have been a really good book if it would have been written differently (background info) and had a better connection between the main charadcters. I give this book 2 out of 5 stars

Vampire Warden Series

About the series: The Wardens series begins with the three Brooks brothers, Evan, Aiden, and Troy. They were early settlers of the town of Braunfels, Texas. When the town was haunted by a series of brutal animal attacks, that left a half-dozen townsmen murdered, the Brooks brothers took things into their own hands. Armed and ready for action, they set out into the wilderness, determined to find this animal and kill it. What they found was a female vampire who decided the brothers were scrumptious morsels, worth keeping around for a lifetime. She attacked the brothers and turned them to vampires.

No sooner did she turn them, though, than another vampire appeared and killed her. This vampire declared himself a "Warden" of the Vampire Council. Wardens uphold the rules of the Vampire race and report to the Council. Killing a human is punishable by death and their 'Maker' had broken that rule. The brothers were then taken to the Council, where they were taught how to survive without killing, how to mingle with humans as if one of them, and when to move on from a location so that they would not be suspected as vampires. Most  importantly, they learned who their enemies were and how to defeat them. In the end, the brothers were granted a financial dowry that had belonged to their Maker and given the choice of freedom, under Council rule, or an alternative--to become Wardens. Now, the brothers travel together as Wardens, tracking outlaw vampires, killing them and protecting innocent humans. It is their eternal duty.

Evan's story- The werewolf population is entrenched in a century long civil war, and now they are plagued by a virus that is turning wolves into killers. The Brooks brothers pursue one such rogue werewolf to Temple, Texas. It is in Temple that Evan encounters a beautiful nurse named Marissa who instantly melts the hundred years of ice running through his veins. When she is brutally attacked by the wolf, he breaks the rules of the Vampire Council and uses his blood to save her. Now, if he doesn't kill the wolf by the next full moon, Marissa will become a killer wolf, and he will be sentenced to death.

This is one of my favorite series. There are three books and they are all short stories that'll keep you entertained and wanting more. It's about three brothers who are vampires and soldiers in a way. They are hot, fierce, and very lovable. The first book is called Hot Vampire Kiss and this is Evan's story. There is 51 pages and it is 0.99 @ Amazon. It's worth it! I couldn't get the brothers out of my head for days. They have everything you need in a good romance book! They are sexy, strong, and smart wardens that love with all their heart. It's a pretty steamy series, so if you are one that doesn't like to read about a lot of sex and details, then you may not enjoy it. The second book is the longest story with about 205 pages. The title is Hot Vampire Seduction. This is Aiden's story and is also only 0.99 cents. This had action, hot sex scenes, love, and a fiesty female character for the brother. I enjoyed this book as much as I did the first one. And the third book is called Hot Vampire Touch which is Troy's story. I highly recommend these books and rate them  5 out of 5 stars.  * If you enjoy these books, then check out Wicked Werewolf Night by this author. It is the beginning of a new series, but picks up where this one leaves off. This book is about werewolves and witches. It's just as good as these books are and only 0.99!

Lords of Deliverence series

They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

His name is Ares, and the fate of mankind rests on his powerful shoulders. If he falls to the forces of evil, the world falls too. As one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, he is far stronger than any mortal, but even he cannot fight his destiny forever. Not when his own brother plots against him.

Yet there is one last hope. Gifted in a way other humans can't-or won't-understand, Cara Thornhart is the key to both this Horseman's safety and his doom. But involving Cara will prove treacherous, even beyond the maddening, dangerous desire that seizes them the moment they meet. For staving off eternal darkness could have a staggering cost: Cara's life.

This is a series about the four horsemen and the apocalypse. The first book is called Eternal Rider and is about Ares. He is a tough, tortured, no emotions, military strategy kind of warrior. The heroine is a strong, beautiful, kind hearted, animal loving woman who melts Ares. They have such a strong connection and the chemistry is there from the beginning. they meet. He doesn't take crap from anyone, but Cara isn't afraid to challenge him and give him a dose of his own medicine. While trying to protect his seal from breaking (which would begin the apocalypse) he is also trying to find out why hell hounds and human hunters are after Cara. The harder he tries to have no connection with her, the more he finds her irresistible and finds himself falling in love with her. You get swept away into a world where there are hell hounds, prophecies  angels, demons, and much more. You get introduced to the other three horsemen in this book also. This is a really good series and will keep you turning page after page to see what happens next! There is hot romance scenes, action,  lots of humor, hotties, and great characters that you will fall for. The book is $7.99  and the second book in the series is called Immortal Rider. I rate the series with 5 out of 5 stars.

Twenty-two-year-old Emma Keane has a secret friend. He’s powerful, mysterious, and devastatingly handsome. In her dreams, anyway. In real life, he’s an enigma. Maybe just a teensy jealous. Definitely overbearing. He’s also a voice only she can hear.

So who or what is he? He won’t say. But if she wants to be free, to be normal, Emma will have to trek to the jungles once ruled by the Mayans and find the forgotten ruin holding the answers.

However, the ruthless deity she’s about to unknowingly unleash on the modern world might not be so easily extracted from her life. Bottom line, he’s got enemies, and now, so does she.

This is the first book in the Accidentally Yours series. It's a fast paced book that is full of humor  The characters are great! The female character is spunky and doesn't always think before she acts, and her companion, as she calls him Guy a.k.a. Votan -God of Death and War, is arrogant and sexy! It's a cute story full of action and humor  There is a cliff hanger ending that leaves you wanting more. I have found a new author to watch out for and give this book 4 out of 5 stars

After a terrible accident in the ambulance, EMT Olivia Jordan didn't expect to wake up chained to a bed. The tall dark sexy man holding her prisoner is not what she expected either. But Garrick Blackthorn’s not your every day kidnapper, no, there’s something extraordinary about him. Something that attracts Olivia. Something dark and secret.

This book is very short, about 60 pages, but it picks up in another story and let me just say they are really good reads! Strong feisty characters that fight for what they want, oh and involves werewolves, does it get any better? I really liked the female character, Olivia, in the story. I found her smart, sassy, and strong. I like that she can hold her own and doesn't have to rely on the guy to save her. The chemistry between the two characters is great and is there immediately. Oh and it has a happy ending! I'm a sucker for those <3  I rate this book with 5 out of 5 stars. It is a freebie on the B&N website and the sequel is even better! Hungry like the Wolf.

I liked this book, but let me say I gave it two stars because I wish it would have been longer and had more information about the "pack". It also needed more information on the relationship between the two main characters. At first, it seems as if theses two don't know each other, but then you get to the scene in the water and they are saying I love you to one another and he wants her to be his mate. Obviously, they have been having a secret relationship, but some details on that would have been nice. Other than those things, I thought it was good. A wolf not afraid to fight for the woman he wants and has some good romance scenes. I picked this up because it caught my eye and was free on B&N website. I'm going to rate it 2 out of 5 stars.

*Review: Vampire For Christmas*

It was one last mission. Shannon, a demon hunter with the agency, is looking forward to leaving behind the small town and the vampire she's been stuck with for the past two years. Things are getting complicated fast and she wants out. A fresh start, free of her vampire partner, awaits her if she can survive their final mission and the lonely Christmas holidays.

It was one last mission. Rafe, a vampire doing time with the agency, watches it approach with dread weighing heavily in his stomach. Two years of working with Shannon has been difficult, especially since he started falling for her, but he doesn't want their partnership to end. He has barely a few days to make her face her feelings and stop her from leaving, and he intends to do just that. When a slimy demon threatens the season of peace and goodwill, it's the chance Rafe has been waiting for and the moment Shannon secretly fears. Rafe's determination to prise open her heart and her own resolve to keep it closed clash as violently as they do with the demon, and threatens to end as messily.

Can Rafe make Shannon see that his love for her is real and that she feels something for him too? Can Shannon face her fears and her past, and stop herself from running away from both? Will a wish on a star bring her what her heart truly desires—a vampire for Christmas?

This is the first book I've read by this author and I was not disappointed! I found it to be a very good short read. It was filled with: action, desire, and team work. Rafe falls in love with Shannon, his partner. While he knows how he feels about her, she is more guarded and confused about her feelings. She hates vampires, but Rafe is different. She tries fighting it, but know matter how hard she tries, she can't get over him. For the past two years they have been partners at the agency, but can there be more to their relationship? Or will Shannon let her past ruin any future she may have with Rafe?  This book is  currently  $2.99 on the B&N website. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

*Review: The Undeparted*

BOOK ONE in the Undeparted Series.

Cassandra is trying to figure out if she was actually bitten by a vampire and whisked away to his castle or if it was a very vivid dream, one which has left her to contemplate her own sanity. Unknowingly, she is the only mortal to resist the vampire's bite and capture the heart of the most powerful vampire that ever existed; the one who began the entire race of the undead, Quentin Castle. For ions Quentin has felt nothing but the lust for blood. But Cassandra has awakened something in him that he had forsaken a millennium ago; he is determined to win this beautiful woman by mortal means rather than by the vampire's bite.

But will he be able to suppress his natural instinct? Will he be able to prove to the skeptical Cassandra that he is a vampire and not an imposter, a wannabe? What hideous thing will he do to prove that he is a vampire, prove that he isn't using some kind of parlor trick, some Houdini magic, and that he is the real thing? As evidence mounts on Quentin's behalf and she can no longer deny her encounter was real and not a dream, will Cassandra be able to resist his evil charm and convince her boyfriend, police officer Mike Lapp and best friend Lucy that vampires really do exist and she's being stalked by one?

To expedite their liaison, Quentin devises a scheme to blackmail Cassandra by setting up her boyfriend for a murder he didn't commit. Cassandra must surrender herself to Quentin for her boyfriend's sake and wait for Mike to scale the walls of the vampire's castle and rescue her. But when her boyfriend arrives, she's in for the shock of her life. People are not always what they seem to be.

Wow!! I absolutely loved this book. :D I usually read paranormal romance that has some hot and steamy scenes, so I was really surprised that I enjoyed this book as much as I did since there's none of that going on in it. I totally love the main character, she is so sweet and selfless. She'll do anything for the people she loves. I wanted her to give in to Quentin, but also wanted her to stay loyal to Mike. The connection between her and the vampire is instant and so strong that neither of them can deny it. The ending was great! Huge surprise!  I couldn't stop reading this book once I got started. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Highly recommend!  I have to rate this 5 out of 5 stars.

*Review: Forbidden Forest*

Born in shame. Cast from society. Shape Shifter/Elf hybrid, Forest must fight for any respect she can get. Targeted in her youth by a vampire noble who placed an illegal slave mark on her, she is forced to obey him, no matter what. Slipping the grip of her master and abandoning the prejudice of Regia, her native world, Forest takes a job on Earth, guarding the portal, using her skills as a warrior to enforce Regia's laws. Now, called home for a black ops mission, Forest must put aside her own prejudice to transport the vampire prince, Syrus, through enemy territory in a time of war.

Prince Syrus, mage and master of the Blood Kata, wants Forest more than he's ever wanted anything. In spite of their mutual mistrust, their attraction cannot be denied. Through the danger of their mission, and the secrets they both keep, it doesn't matter what they feel. Forest is forbidden.

This is such a great read!! The cover was what got me at first. I’ll admit, if the cover doesn't appeal to me then I probably won't read it. I LOVE this book cover, very eye catching. I really like Forest, she is a warrior. Strong, smart, feisty, dedicated to her job, and likes to test people's patience just for a laugh. The main characters are perfect for each other! They have both lived hard lives and have overcome many challenges, which is why they understand each other. Forest hates vampires and has a damn good reason to, but she can't deny or fight this connection to the Prince. This book has adventure, romance, and a few hilarious parts as well! I can't wait to read more in this series!! :)) Rate: 4 out of 5 stars
