*Review: The Undeparted*

BOOK ONE in the Undeparted Series.

Cassandra is trying to figure out if she was actually bitten by a vampire and whisked away to his castle or if it was a very vivid dream, one which has left her to contemplate her own sanity. Unknowingly, she is the only mortal to resist the vampire's bite and capture the heart of the most powerful vampire that ever existed; the one who began the entire race of the undead, Quentin Castle. For ions Quentin has felt nothing but the lust for blood. But Cassandra has awakened something in him that he had forsaken a millennium ago; he is determined to win this beautiful woman by mortal means rather than by the vampire's bite.

But will he be able to suppress his natural instinct? Will he be able to prove to the skeptical Cassandra that he is a vampire and not an imposter, a wannabe? What hideous thing will he do to prove that he is a vampire, prove that he isn't using some kind of parlor trick, some Houdini magic, and that he is the real thing? As evidence mounts on Quentin's behalf and she can no longer deny her encounter was real and not a dream, will Cassandra be able to resist his evil charm and convince her boyfriend, police officer Mike Lapp and best friend Lucy that vampires really do exist and she's being stalked by one?

To expedite their liaison, Quentin devises a scheme to blackmail Cassandra by setting up her boyfriend for a murder he didn't commit. Cassandra must surrender herself to Quentin for her boyfriend's sake and wait for Mike to scale the walls of the vampire's castle and rescue her. But when her boyfriend arrives, she's in for the shock of her life. People are not always what they seem to be.

Wow!! I absolutely loved this book. :D I usually read paranormal romance that has some hot and steamy scenes, so I was really surprised that I enjoyed this book as much as I did since there's none of that going on in it. I totally love the main character, she is so sweet and selfless. She'll do anything for the people she loves. I wanted her to give in to Quentin, but also wanted her to stay loyal to Mike. The connection between her and the vampire is instant and so strong that neither of them can deny it. The ending was great! Huge surprise!  I couldn't stop reading this book once I got started. Looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Highly recommend!  I have to rate this 5 out of 5 stars.

*Review: Forbidden Forest*

Born in shame. Cast from society. Shape Shifter/Elf hybrid, Forest must fight for any respect she can get. Targeted in her youth by a vampire noble who placed an illegal slave mark on her, she is forced to obey him, no matter what. Slipping the grip of her master and abandoning the prejudice of Regia, her native world, Forest takes a job on Earth, guarding the portal, using her skills as a warrior to enforce Regia's laws. Now, called home for a black ops mission, Forest must put aside her own prejudice to transport the vampire prince, Syrus, through enemy territory in a time of war.

Prince Syrus, mage and master of the Blood Kata, wants Forest more than he's ever wanted anything. In spite of their mutual mistrust, their attraction cannot be denied. Through the danger of their mission, and the secrets they both keep, it doesn't matter what they feel. Forest is forbidden.

This is such a great read!! The cover was what got me at first. I’ll admit, if the cover doesn't appeal to me then I probably won't read it. I LOVE this book cover, very eye catching. I really like Forest, she is a warrior. Strong, smart, feisty, dedicated to her job, and likes to test people's patience just for a laugh. The main characters are perfect for each other! They have both lived hard lives and have overcome many challenges, which is why they understand each other. Forest hates vampires and has a damn good reason to, but she can't deny or fight this connection to the Prince. This book has adventure, romance, and a few hilarious parts as well! I can't wait to read more in this series!! :)) Rate: 4 out of 5 stars

*Review*

Rate: 4 out of 5 stars

This was a fun book to read! It was full of action, drama, betrayal, and love.  Everything you need to make a great book! (: Alexis has a lot thrown at her in a short amount of time. She's unsure who she can trust, what's going on, and how to prepare for her new role as princess. I am a fan of Cliff! He is such a gentleman and loves her with all of his heart. Everything she goes through toughens her and makes her a better person. There wasn't a boring part in it and keeps you guessing what's going to happen next. I had a good time reading this book and getting to know all of the characters. I'm hoping our lead lady will get her H.E.A. soon!

Author Interview with Tania Penn!

Click here to see what blogs Tania will be stopping by next!

1. How did The Morning Star come about?
Tania:  "I had been toying with the idea of writing about Lucifer as a misunderstood and lovestruck being,
one who was a father as well. Initially, it was going to be a love story between him and Michaela,
then decided to throw in the whole "Romeo and Juliet" factor, and make it a love story between their
daughter, and the son of an Archangel, whom Michaela is in love with."

2. Where do you get your inspiration from?
Tania: "Either from dreams, or when my mind starts wandering off -- that can be a very dangerous thing! I
am constantly thinking, thinking, thinking, it never shuts off. Even when I am lying in bed, I am
coming up with scenarios and story ideas. In my previous life not to very long ago, I was the lead
singer and songwriter of my own band, The Wallbangers, and songwriting inspiration was
everywhere -- even from just one word to a commercial!"

3. How many books do you plan to write in this series?
Tania: "At the moment, I have plans for three. Currently working on book 2, Equinox. It took me a while to
figure out the skeletal structure, so to speak, in my mind of where I wanted to go next with the
characters. It was a bit of a challenge, so I really hope book 3 comes a bit easier to me!"

4. How long did it take to write The Morning Star?
Tania: "I started writing it in late 2012, and when a friend told me about UtopYA in Nashville this coming
June, I made it my goal to finish by then. But lo and behold, I finished before the end of 2012!
Overall, took me 4 months."

5. Was it difficult to pick a cover for the book?
Tania: "Not at all. I'm a sucker for simple black and red book covers -- just like a bottle of wine, my eye
gravitates to the black and red. Lucky for me, my husband is an artist and told him what I wanted.
His first concept, which took him all of ten minutes to do, was of a broken and bleeding cross, which
was awesome sauce to the fifth power, but it looked more vampiric then angelic. By mistake he
clicked something on photoshop to lighten the cross, and it washed out with the bright flash that you
see now. " Perfect! " I told him, leave that and add a little embellishments. Took him a total of fifteen
minutes to design that for me!"

I want to thank Tania for doing this interview and letting me be a part of this blog tour! :)

I'm pumped to start reading this book and I LOVE the cover!! I plan to post my review on April 16th.

Six angels once sat at the right hand of The Almighty, but an ill-fated decision cast them out of Heaven. Now they serve Him on Earth, slaying demons for their redemption. They are…The Fallen.

********

“Relish this moment in My favor. It is your last.”

Lucius, once revered at the side of God, fell to Earth with his brothers to pay penance and atone for his lapse in leadership. Wingless and forsaken, they have all paid a price for their complicity. Lucius’ hubris is now a curse, and he cannot rest until they carry out the last of The Almighty’s orders...and stop a war that has been millennia in the making.

Persephone Roberts is always in the right place at the right time, the serendipity allowing her to help people on her travels. When it leads her to cross paths with the band of hard-living fallen angels, she sets her sights on their leader, and is determined to restore Lucius’ faith in their quest. And in himself.

But the ancient evil the angels strive to fight has put Persephone in its crosshairs. It will be up to Lucius and his brothers to save her and destroy the minions of the dark. Can the amber-eyed beauty with her accepting heart heal wounds that cut soul deep, and force him to reclaim a glory he once tossed aside? Is he strong enough to realize the path back to Heaven begins with her, or will he be forever...fallen?
